Becky Allan - #AgMoms
We're celebrating the moms in agriculture.
We interviewed 10 #AGMOMS. Each were asked 5 questions. Our goal? To inspire long-time mothers, new mothers, and aspiring mothers who feel overwhelmed, over worked, or moms who just need a little encouragement.
Mom #8: Becky Allan
Your boys have all shown and been involved with the cattle operation. Showing certainly teaches important life skills.
1. What kind of appreciation for agriculture has showing built for your kids?
2. Outside of showing, how have you and Dave taught the boys about agriculture?
My kids have learned so much from agriculture - work ethic, respect , responsibility, and to be stewards of the land.
One of my favorite things we did was to take an Rv trip across the country stopping at multiple ranches seeing how everybody operates differently !
What are some of your favorite memories with your kids in the barn?
Some of my favorite memories of the boys in the barn are when all three of them would be dancing to music when Landry was really little , and now seeing Mason really helping Landry start out with his first calf “Dumplin.”
What do you think your family would be doing if you weren't involved in agriculture and the cattle industry?
I can’t imagine not being in Agriculture. I wouldn’t want to be in any other industry raising my children!
Can you share some advice for #AgMoms who want to start their own business or develop their careers, but are hesitant to fill their plates too full?
As I’m sitting at the Mom2.0 conference my biggest suggestion would be go out of your comfort zone and never stop learning , I’m an avid reader and self help junkie and always think you can do anything you put your mind to .
Stay tuned for the next #AGMOM!
